Rock and roll EMLX:
from The Street.com
Emulex (EMLX:Nasdaq - news) announced that it purchased privately held Giganet for $645 million in stock. The move helps Emulex move into Giganet's area of expertise, which is based on Internet Protocol.
Meanwhile, Emulex said sales of its Fibre Channel adapters were doing quite well, so well, in fact, that the company said that business will grow between 28% and 30%, up from earlier estimates. The bottom line is good. Emulex said that 2001 earnings per share could come in at $1.48, better than the $1.45 First Call/Thomson Financial estimate.
