By January 20, 2001, a new president will be installed.
All of the litigation and manuevering will be over.

Private re-counts under the FOIA will not change that result
and will not assure that some 85 year old grandma's vote "counted."

There are only two reasons for the "re-counting" of these votes under the FOIA by private organizations:

1. To undermine the legitmacy of whoever is installed
as President in January, or
2. To reinforce that legitimacy
depending on how the count turns out.

What good does it do this country, and all those 85 year old grandmas, to effectuate #1? Is it good for this country for
people to despise their president? Will it promote the general welfare to keep on with this divisive attitude?
Is it beneficial to fan the flames of class and race warfare
as has been happening in Florida?

The ONLY reason for these organizations to count is because they hope to find a reason to undermine. That is purely political and nothing more, even if it hurts the country.

If the recounting effectuates #2, nothing changes except that the detractors finally shut up( unless they recount the recounts.<g>)

But the problem is that there will never be a definitive count because everyone will get different numbers.
Mark my words. Voodoo math and standards will abound.

Of course the right to vote is precious, but the FOIA permitted recounts has nothing to do with that right.
You're confusing the election contest and protests with
what I'm talking about. They are not the same.

It's time to start looking ahead so that the country can heal and get beyond this donnybrook. This recounting BS
by folks like the Miami Herald will achieve just the opposite.
