I wonder ...Man is the only creature that looks up.

Animals rarely look up and see the stars in the sky...they
are too preoccupied by their senses and instincts , and
constrained always to be

looking always/only what is in front of them ,
around them, or upon the ground for food or threat , safety
and each other
(there be poisoness vipers and dangerous threats lurking upon the belly of the earth and in the grasses, so one must be constantly wary )

..even wolves when they raise their heads to howl
, close their eyes , and do not see the stars.

In our evolving as a species , and learned speech , the written word...did we not personify all that we found to be
"Ideal" in the heavens ?

Like a new plaything , Life gave us the ability to look up and place and arrange in that new space that animals cannot know , all that we imagined , worshipped , feared , longed for and adored. The highest in us and all we sensed was great we placed their .

First the thunder , the wind and rain, the light & Sun , the great Spirit ....Happy Hunting Grounds, Elysian fields, and Heaven wher the Angels sing.

Like children with a new plaything we were given the gift of looking "Up". And we arranged and rearranged it thru the many good and derranged centuries to reflect the myriad
endless stories that evolved within us....and the mode of living and cultures that went on into the present in a never ending procession....

some rise some fall...

Maybe the painter saw more than just a Starry Starry Night when he painted the picture...but what is the most self-evident thing in the universe , he would be driven mad to know.

Maybe he looked up in the night sky , and saw God...and that God was always from the beginning...always us.

Starry Starry Nights ....

So who is God really then ?

;-)
