JRI, your rationale works equally well for me ....!!. Some of the 'distribution' I've seen this last week has obviously been margin selling ... and I judge that more from when it occured than anything tangible. Many sectors look washed out ... software ... chips ...internet .. etc. Wireless looked cooked but made a quick comeback ... and looks overdone to me once more. Networkers & fibre optics & storage have seen lots of distribution recently ... but haven't really cracked. Its also true to say they still look over-valued if the tech cycle is ending ....and the economy is slowing. Still ... none of that matters ... if the sellers have finished for now and there are some buyers ... the market will rise ... just as it fell when there were no buyers and only sellers. Its also interesting that many funds have been re-allocating their portfolio's away from tech - that obviously hurt.... especially as the old generals are being ditched because the growth isn't there any more.... and so the index suffered as well.

Soooo ... we'll see. I'm not sure its time to make any long term investments ... but a short term position trade may well be in order ... unless SUNW warns. IBM is rumoured to be missing .. but I doubt that would really hurt. Same with MSFT. It would atke a 'new leader' and I don't see that happening this qtr. However .. next qtr is another matter. There were rumours about NTAP providing heavy discounts ... and this hurt CFLO & INKT ... who may well be struggling to make numbers. RNWK's looks like it may well miss aswell ... but that may be taken by the market as internet ... oops .. my random musings are causing verbal Ramses revenge ... so ... we'll see what happens ... good luck !!

Regards

Stephen
