John,

I have also had problems with the Matrox dualhead. Mine is the G400 dh which preceeded your model. I also suffered thru the non recognition of dual monitors that you described. On top of that, I determined that it was the G400 that was causing my W2000 system to freeze at least once a day.

I have now mothballed my G400 and have gone back to using single video cards. I now have 4 Voodoo 3 2000 cards in my system and have yet to experience a crash in 6 weeks. By the way, I chose the Voodoo 3 2000 instead of the Voodoo 3 3000 because the 2000 generates far less heat.

Hope this helps. By the way, I had to also mothball 4 ATI Expert 98 video cards when I went from W98 to W2K.

Sue
