Actually Frank, if you read the Forbes article on Wolfram, and some of his site, you'll discover that he has a great deal of disdain for those who took his original work on cellular automata and dimmed it down to create a more popularly acceptable Chaos Theory. He claims to be much more profound and at the same time, writing a world changing book. I'm sure I'll buy a copy. If for nothing other than his debate with Steven Jay Gould about the nature of seashell geometry. That is a topic I can handle.

. I note that he calls his observations and interpretations of mostly chaotic situations, discoveries. Pretty profound, wouldn't you say?
Aha, that skepticism shield is up, I'm glad to see. That's probably a good thing. Let's think about this, a commercial software developer is dropping tantalizing hints of a great new product in a leading business promotion publication. Hmmm, maybe this isn't the utter change of science, maybe it's just business as usual? Is that what I'm sensing... Hehe. You have to wonder why he feels compelled to self-publish. I guess the Oxford Press can't find that special paper to make the pictures really pretty, eh?

As far as the thrilla in vanilla, all I can say is that I'm just too disgusted with the whole mess to care any more. The latest is that Sens. Windbag and Blowhard are hoping to propose an enabling piece of legislation, soon, or sometime, well maybe, to form a commission to study the election system. And take it out of the hands of the FEC and DoD. Can you say, new bureaucratic initiative..... :)
Less transparency....

Best, Ray
