You are right, I was too quick with the snappy retort. However, there was no error or omission on the majority of applications leading to absentee ballots, and therefore they cannot be thrown out, even if the ballots resulting from the original omission could. Since those ballots are irretrievable, they cannot be thrown out. Besides, it is not clear that rectification of the printers error would invalidate the ballots per se. Permission is implied in aiding the voter to complete a ballot that he had substantially submitted.......
