Fortunately, this grinding-to-a-shuddering-halt of PC sales has nothing whatever to do with Sun Microsystems. Different businesses. Just as it has nothing to do with Coke, Gillette, or Intimate Brands. The last things to go when it's time to tighten up the old belt are beverages, razor blades, underwear, and servers.

QS-

I completely disagree with you.

Think about it for a second.

Do you really believe palm pilots and all those other gadgets are going to replace PC's? Of course not. I'd like to meet the person that has Internet access through a palm pilot, but doesn't own a PC. Are you going to type email messages and post messages from a palm on SI? Hell no, and neither is anyone else....

What's more telling here is that the PC market is telling us that almost everyone that wants a PC has a PC. Even all these companies practically giving them away with Internet access can't move them. To extrapolate from that, Internet growth is going to slow from current levels. If you read more between the lines, the need for SUNW servers will slow with the Internet growth. Can you honestly argue against tying PC sales to SUNW servers given the argument I'm making? Take off your rose colored glasses before answering this.
