Advanced Radio Telecom Announces New Customers
Sales Activity Gathers Momentum for Broadband Wireless Provider
BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2000--Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. (ART) (Nasdaq:ARTT - news) a leading broadband wireless Internet Protocol (IP) services provider, today announced that the following companies have recently signed service orders with ART:

McKinsey & Company (Houston) USCB, Inc. (Los Angeles) Clearview Networks (Los Angeles) GASP Partners (Los Angeles) Impetus (San Jose) MKD (San Jose) EChips (San Jose) Chindadotcom Corp. (San Jose) Clark Nuber PS (Seattle) Meals.com (Seattle) Alliance Residential Management (Houston) Advent Enterprises (Los Angeles) Ariana Telecommunication (Los Angeles) Pangea Design (Houston) Tavanza, Inc. (San Jose) Mission Valley Executive Plaza (San Diego) Mark III Systems (Houston) Koreantel (Los Angeles) Geonet Services (Houston) OSI Management Inc. (Washington, D.C.)

These new customers are early adopters of ART's new high-speed broadband service, which debuted on Sept. 18, 2000. This product offers connectivity from 3 to 10 Mbps directly to business users and is designed to further strengthen office building penetration in markets where ART currently operates.

In addition to orders for the new service, ART has recently received 30 orders from its wholesale channel partners for service in San Jose, Portland, San Diego, Phoenix and Seattle.

``We are beginning to see some real momentum on the sales front,'' said Wharton (``Zie'') Rivers, Jr., ART's CEO. ``Our value proposition is more than straightforward, it's unbeatable. We offer broadband wireless service that is as reliable as fiber at dramatically reduced provisioning intervals, and at prices that are extremely compelling. ART's value proposition is clearly striking a chord with the market.

``We are very encouraged by the early adoption of our service among the growing number of companies who see fixed broadband wireless as the wave of the future,'' Rivers added. ``It is also very much in keeping with our strategic goal of aggressively driving revenue in on-net markets. Our direct product is the perfect complement to our core business of selling higher capacity bandwidth -- today up to OC-3, or 155 Mbps, connectivity -- to regional and national Internet Service Providers and carriers.''
