Shouldn't be any need to count dimples past 2004. Sen. Mitch McConnell said in the paper yesterday that Uncle Sam is going to pump millions of dollars into the election system to upgrade all the counties that still use the old-fangled Popeil Votomatic machines. We'll all be voting by computer in a few years. Walk into your precinct and there will be a row of Macs with touch-screen capability. Just punch the donkey if you wish to vote a straight Democratic ticket, or you can call up pictures of each candidate and just put your thumbprint on each person's face.
