Hi Henry. PanAm was *the* carrier of carriers. The biggest and the best in every category. They dominated the Pacific and the Atlantic and South America. They were the Clipper Fleet, the first trans Pacific airline. A real Gorilla. The employees were tremendously proud, energetic and hardworking. And they made good money. 20 years ago I would have loved to have traded my government job for a PAA ticket agent job. They all wore Rolex watches and gold chains, etc. I was working on the Island of Guam at the time.

Sorry for the rambling, but the former employees have a website that I thought you might appreciate. It pays tribute to the PanAm of old. To the lore:

panam.org

I'd like to see someone with more knowledge than me get a thread started on this one. They appear to be serious about rebuilding the carrier. All new management, etc. I'm encouraged by the news. I saw them at a high of 17 and bought at 10. If they can acquire some more carriers like Carnival and maybe Viasa, and management is smarter than the original management, I can fall in love with the company and the money they will make me.

BTW, it's my understanding that the greed of both the former employees and management was it's demise. Neither side would give in and they eventually just broke it up and sold it's parts.

Greg

p.s. Hope you're right about a little surge up in the near term.
