look at '98...in the two weeks before take-off from the lows started, it was the Fridays that saw the biggest advances. this Friday rule isn't hard and fast. we had 13 earnings warnings yesterday and today that i am aware of (may have been more) and the market is still rallying. that means there are no more sellers for now.
we have a big cycle turn date on the 15th. there's an outside chance it will be a low instead of a high (cycle inversion) if a bombshell hits that CAN'T be ignored. i give this scenario a 5%-10% chance. the much more likely scenario is a rally into expiration and Fed meeting, to make this turning point a high.
i expect that the Fed shift to neutral on the 18th will lead to sell-the-news profit taking...early next year it will become clear that the downturn of the economy continues to accelerate, and that rate cuts won't stop it. then you get your next good sell-off...
