"Roadkill" Kumar was on CNBC and was pretty positive, looking out a couple or four quarters. Asked if what Intel said yesterday was Intel specific, or industry wide, he said industry wide. Said the PC business is cyclical, the recent high point being +35% in Q2 (YOY I guess). Now it's 2%, he said.
Asked about his call 2 weeks ago that Intel may even beat their own 4 - 8% estimates, and wasn't it a bad call. He said yes, a bad call, but he blamed Europe for not rebounding (would have had to be a pretty quick rebound).
He recommends starting to accumulate Intel, if your perspective is 12 months or more. Asked if P4 would be a big driver, said yes, that, and W2K, starting mid next year. He also said 64 bit would be very big for Intel starting in 2002 and that 2002 would be one of their best years ever.
