Jenna: Agreed! Stick with the winners. The moral of this year's market story is risk, so it makes sense to work the winners and either avoid or short the marginal players. I wonder at this point what pre-announcements could really hurt the techs. I don't think IBM would hurt much. DELL obviously wouldn't. About all I can think of that would inflict pain are EMC, SUNW, and a few of the major fibers (CSCO, JDSU). ORCL might, although there's already been serious concern about its emerging applications business.

The techs could possibly be hurt by extremely bad news out of the financials, if it looked like it would lead lenders to slash risk. But I think the Fed provides psychological support here, so the news would have to be catastrophic to have a deep impact, I think.
