<<Before year-end, we should vote on whether Intel is a King or a Gorilla. I nominate it for king of the PC chip market (with bad management getting clobbered in other chip markets).>>

I think Intel is a Gorilla on Main Street. They control an open proprietary architecture and there are high switching costs.

<<TXN should be considered a king in the DSP chip market.>>

I agree with this one

<<We should also consider whether Gemstar should be listed in the thread header as Watch and Wait.>>

GMST diluted themselves with the TV Guide merger. I agree it is too early to call them a Gorilla. I would like to see them spin off the publishing business and the ebooks business ASAP. I sold my GMST holding after their last earnings announcement.

<<I think we should also consider whether WIND should be promoted to the G&K Index>>

No tornado yet so no Gorilla. I like this company but am waiting for some hypergrowth. I think it should stay in the Watch and Wait.

ORCL is a glaring omission in the G&K portfolio. I have never owned the stock because I think Ellison is an egomaniac and it has cost me.

I also think RBAK should be added to the watch and wait.

Cheers, Mark
