Knowledge is not the cause of original sin. Disobedience is. "don't acquire knowledge of good and bad for yourself, you may learn that your chains are only screwed on and you have a screwdriver in your hand." Thats a pretty good paraphrase of what Satan said to Eve only it turned out that the screwdriver was really a welding torch and instead of bringing freedom it brought bondage and death. Satan lied, he's always doing that. I'm sure he had some hot stock tips for Adam as well. Something to do with real-estate in Sodom and a tower in Babylon. The freedom you are talking about is an illusion. We are not free from death or sin or Hell. You can pick your nose but you can't (outside of Christ) determine (pick) your own consequences. Greg
