SUNW is an attractive short. A couple of weeks ago I switched to short trading of highly valued stocks (ARBA, VRSN, BRCD, CIEN), in frustration with the continual downward spiral of my portfolio. I learned a lot in a short time (no pun intended).

One of the stocks which showed up in my screening was SUNW. This shocked me at first, but explains the current downdraft completely. Short's will attack SUNW until somebody says something positive about either SUNW or the election, then all the short sellers will head to the exits again like they did last tuesday during the 12-point run up. All short covering IMO. Then they'll attack again. Eventually the next earnings release will scare them away and they'll target another company which has held up well in the down market.

All told shorting was a worthwhile experience, which I now know I'm not suited for, and I was lucky to get out even. Short sellers play rough.

P.

Edit: I forgot the usual blah-blah-blah about the above not being investment advice. You know I know I don't know what I'm talking about.
