Tony,
Asked about his call 2 weeks ago that Intel may even beat their own 4 - 8% estimates, and wasn't it a bad call. He said yes, a bad call, but he blamed Europe for not rebounding (would have had to be a pretty quick rebound).
This guy is a complete joke. It will be interesting to hear what Intel says in January during the CC, but it seems (from other sources) that the US market has been weak, while Europe and Asia are OK.
He recommends starting to accumulate Intel, if your perspective is 12 months or more. Asked if P4 would be a big driver, said yes, that, and W2K, starting mid next year. He also said 64 bit would be very big for Intel starting in 2002 and that 2002 would be one of their best years ever.
He originally said to buy Intel because of strong 2H 2000, then it was buy Intel because of strong P4 sales, then it was buy Intel because of strong 2H 2001, now it is buy Intel because of strong 64bit sales starting 2002.
You can take the bottom line of his advice, which is buy Intel, but you know where this ANALyst is pulling from his reasons for doing so.
