I actually use the most heavy duty standard trailer hitch. The ball is 2 5/16" with a 10,000 pound rating and the male end that goes in the reciever is solid steel (not hollow like most of them). It tows so well with this setup that I did not upgrade to the system with a stabilizer. Forgot what those are called.
