I don't know if this election could have been determined beyond the margin of error given the most careful and impartial handling.

But an appearance of fairness could have been maintained with a careful attempt at the most accurate possible count. You could have shown respect for the due process of deciding a contested election, and the rights of the losing candidate.

If the Secretary of State had been impartial, I believe she could have ordered a statewide recount, or a recount of all counties with over 1% of an undervote, and accepted the result. Then you would have seen due process. Instead she just tried to stop the clock while her guy was ahead, ignoring some really glaring irregularities in the vote.
