A Bush win has been insured and guaranteed by the hooligans in the Florida and US Legislatures
Spare the hyperbole. They're not hooligans, they're partisans. Just as the four SC justices who issued this ruling are partisans.
This election was a tie, statistically. One party ultimately has to win. Due to the constitutionally mandated rules of the election, it will be Bush, in this instance. All that Gore has done, and can do, is to engender divisiveness, hostility, turmoil in the markets, and cynicism of the electoral process. The guy has no class what-so-ever.
Watch the patience of the American public quickly turn to a short fuse, and demand an end to this rancorous debacle before genuine damage is done to this country.
I'm a libertarian and have been more amused than anything else by this litigation, up until now. Now I'm indeed angry. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. If Gore thinks that his hopeless quest for the presidency is worth tearing the country to bits, then he's unfit for the office, IMO. |
