Many of the undervote are merely hanging chads that have a 50% chance (or greater) of hanging closed when they run through the machine.

If this was the standard used I dont think I would have a problem with it. However, in Broward County they were counting ballots in which an indentation had occurred on a candidates name....and the rest of the ballot had votes (correctly punched through) aligned with that candidates party. Basically....you couldnt split your vote, or decide not to vote in the Presidential election. They decided for you....

Regardless with what happens with the current recount, the Broward county votes will end up counting (about 400 for Gore). This is precisely the type of subjectivity I do not want in the election....

Imagine if this power was conferred to the Democratic Party in Chicago (or the Republican party in other locales)....the opposition would never have a chance.
