I would like to produce proof to the contrary....

The chipmerchant now sells the AMD K6-233Mhz

This means, AMD is not having as much trouble as you think producing
the chips, otherwise they would all be going to those OEM's who have
233Mhz lines and are dependant on AMD.

The chipmerchant now sells the AMD K6-233Mhz CPU for $695

This means that they are trying to keep demand down because they do
not yet have enough chips to sell...so there must be some demand for
these chips or they would price them lower....(that is how supply and
demand works isn't it?)...

Hence, evidence to disprove both of your misguided points.
