Today was a defeat for Bush but it amazes me that Republicans are crying "foul" and spinning so ugly when all the judges ordered was to count undervotes which are actually real votes which have not been counted. And in all counties. No longer just Dem-heavy counties which was a previous Bush-crowd gripe.

Will the GOP condemn this re-count of real votes from real people? Will they try to stop this recount from even happening even though people are now aware that real legal votes have been thus far omitted from the tally? Incredible partisanship.

And what if Bush finishes ahead? Will they eat their words?

Do they really think it was fair to have Harris in the position she's in slowing down and disallowing the re-counts? Of course that wasn't fair. This course of action seems the fairest of all though I frankly never thought I'd see it happen. Gore could actually win now (but only after a fair re-count) and if the Fla. legislature tries to give it to Bush even with Gore plainly ahead they will be 100% in the wrong and everyone will know it.

I hope the GOP will not try to make that mistake just because they're unwilling to accept a real re-count of real voters in all counties. Sounds fair enough to me. Wish it had happened two weeks ago though. What makes this crazy is how long it's taken to get to this point.

Another thing, Baker condemns the Democrats for resorting to the courts to win. But that is exactly how the GOP has stopped the re-counting - until today that is. What silly hypocrisy. Indefensible. Let the votes be counted and let's see who really won. That's all there is to it now.
