Hi everyone, I have a friend who's an astrologer. She emailed this to me tonight and i thought i'd share it with everyone here. This was taken from a message board she's been participating in with other astrologers, and here are some of her commments:

"Looking ahead - from the election night perspective of the 29 degree
Moon/Retro-Mercury aspect - what do you see for the country? I do not believe this experience will soon fade - or for a long time - and will influence events that came 'into being' on this election eve."

(Posted Dec. 5)
I'm in complete agreement with your conclusion but I approached it from a different perspective. When I saw Pluto crossing the U.S.
Ascendant (and yes, I understand there's some disagreement with the 5:13pm chart I'm using, but bear with me...) my *first* reaction was to wonder "Are we in for some type of revolution?"

The only way to get a clue as to how Pluto's current conjunction to the Ascendant might play out is to look to the past...In 1964 transiting Pluto squared the U.S. Ascendant right before LBJ/Humphrey took office and the Vietnam War was escalated. Protests, dissent, and "a nation opposed" defined a whole decade of social change.

From late '71 to mid '73, through a series of direct/retrograde movements, Pluto was conjunct the Midheaven and Nixon was elected to his second term where "Watergate" made the Presidency synonymous with lies, deceit and scandal.

So what to I see for the future? Nothing less than civil unrest and scandal surrounding the Presidency. That the current climate of legal
challenges will be on the forefront for some time to come is further supported by the partial solar eclipse on Dec. 25th where Mercury/Sun/Moon oppose Jupiter/Venus in the U.S. 7th. Mercury rules the U.S. 7th (disputes) and is entrapped via Virgo in the 9th -Courts. With Venus representative of Justice and ruling the 10th - Presidency - this is going to be a tangled legal crisis (eclipse) for months to come. VERY turbulent times that will irrevocably change the face of this nation.

Yet, the question remains...who, in the end, will ultimately win this election? Well, synchronicity be damned but I stumbled upon an
article that I must have stashed away from the '96 election -"Determining the Outcome of Presidential Elections" by Basil T.
Fearrington. (Talk about serendipity but I have no clue who this Fearrington fellow might be, so please don't ask. <g> )

Mr. Fearrington states that "Every man who has ever been a U.S. President has ALWAYS had a planet or angle in the Taurus/Scorpio axis, NO EXCEPTIONS!" Since I have no desire to track down the birthdates of every U.S. President to verify his statement, I'm
going to take him at his word. This being the case, Bush doesn't have any planets or angles in the Taurus/Scorpio axis while Gore has one
- Venus. No wonder he is so adamant in his position that it is only "fair" to count every vote (balance) and that he continues to pursue what he considers his right to the Presidency through the "Justice"system.

But here's another interesting tidbit the article revealed: "Nicholas Campion's 'Book of World Horoscopes' contains a horoscope for the birth of the presidential office based onthe inauguration of George Washington. He calls it "The Presidency" chart and it's dated
and timed for April 30, 1789, at 12:45 pm LMT, New York, New York." Mr. Fearrington indicates that only conjunctions and oppositions
should be considered when comparing a candidate's chart to The Presidency chart. In this instance, Gore's natal Venus is conjunct "The Presidency" Midheaven, which I find to be somewhat revealing and possibly prophetic. There are one or two other
oppositions to "The Presidency" in both candidate's charts that can be discussed and debated ad nauseum, but the MC conjunct seems to be the most important, all things considered.

So, once again, from all the various indicators I've seen and despite the current legal squabblings, I still say Gore looks like the winner
if the past is any indication of thefuture.

Dec. 6

It's not only Pluto crossing the Ascendant, it Pluto entering its 12th house as it painstakingly approaches a Pluto Return in 2023.

Linnea, I know from your previous posts that you're
familiar with horary astrology and will undoubtedly understand this concept but let me explain this in a bit more detail for
those who may not...The U.S. natal Pluto is in the 2nd house at 27 Cap. There is a technique called "Stepping" where the location of Pluto (or the planet of your choice) becomes the 1st house and the rest of the houses are counted around the chart from that start point.
So in this case, the U.S. Ascendant/1st house becomes Pluto's 12th house.

The 12th house is notorious for revealing all things hidden and secret. The sins of the past have a way of catching up and demanding
rectification in strange and unusual ways, always involving the psyche in one fashion or another, always a 'test'. There is often a sense of entrapment and a sense of "self-undoing". Some people have nervous breakdowns, some are hauled away to jail, while others have mystical/spiritual awakenings of profound impact. However it plays out, life is irrevocably changed.

This is the energy our nation faces at the moment and the next few decades will challenge who and what we're really about. There will
be many Truths revealed and unpleasantries to deal with. It's entirely possible that the foundations and ideologies thatformed our country will crumble like the once-great Roman civilization that seemed to implode upon itself with hypocracy, graft and
corruption. It's entirely possible that this Election heralds the Beginning of The End.

And while this may sound all "doom and gloom" (well, it IS!) at least we know that we are headed for New Beginnings and, as Martha would say, "That's a good thing!" It's just getting through these interim decades that are gonna' be a bitch! <g>

Dec. 7

Hmmmmm...on Dec. 10th as Pluto conjuncts the US Asc, Gore's transiting Mars - ruler of the Presidency - will be in the 4th -
Foundations/Conclusions - trine Uranus the "awakener" in the 11th - goals. Uranus is also ruler of the 7th - disputes - so maybe,
just maybe the court cases/vote count on the current agenda may turn in his favor.

Bush's chart for this date shows Mercury - ruler of 3rd/news and 11th/goals - trine to natal Pluto in the 1st, but the very next day his Sun - Asc/chart ruler opposes Uranus -ruler of 7th - disputes - in the 11th - goals. He's going to be a bit <ahem> agitated and cranky."
