Dan--Bush "rises above?" Nothing stopped him from agreeing to Gore's perfectly fair offer to recount ALL of the FL counties, and to accept the results! What's "unfair" about THAT? It's the law in his own home state, for God's sake!

As I said, I see the BS unfairness Gore has tried to twist this system into- something never intended either constitutionally or legislatively. We should all be against the sort of unfairness he's sought.

Sorry, but your argument is trumped in a major way by the reality of what Gore's sought for himself. I just can't erase the fact of what he's actually done. Bush, meanwhile, rightly refused to engage in seeking offsetting territorial advantages(a disgustingly unamerican proposition), and so rises above.
