Jim, It is really tough for the USSC to issue an injunction to stop the recount. If the USSC overrules FLA SC, the recounted votes won't be included anyways. My feeling is that if Bush can show harm from this process they will go along. What I see on TV with all counties now counting the undervotes is what makes this thing really difficult. There does not appear to be a big problem; they are already counting and should be done by tomorrow. What is the harm? If the recounts show a big lead for Gore, the pendilum will have really have shifted to Gore's side. I would also point out that if the FLA legislature stays out of the picture, they will come to a conclusion with this thing. Now I am starting to feel that they should not be involved---just let the courts decide whether it is FLA or USSC. I have a feeling it may be an uphill battle for Bush. BTW--I sure hope he gets that injunction and gets the decision overturned in USSC. However, I do think it is the FLA legilature that may be making it a constitutional crisis, not the courts.
