Wayne -in a true democracy, we would be sitting at our computers voting on every issue. The majority would always win.
There would still be slavery, women would not vote, the sick in poverty, no civil rights action, no real government -we would all carry guns.... maybe you're on to something!

Actually, the best government is a benevolent dictatorship - like Singapore. The only problem is that they don't stay benevolent.

So, what we have is not great, but good enough.... except if Bush wins.
