you seem to forget the teams of gore lawyers dispatched to disqualify the military ballots, in violation of federal law.

This constant classification of all absentee ballots as being military is not right. And the Gore lawyers sought to disqualify absentee ballots according to the law. If you recall, they initially used the instructions that Katherine Harris had issued with regard to the postmark issue. It was later learned by all that there was a Federal law that superceded the state statute that Mrs. Harris had said was to be used. However, any disqualifications the Gore side sought were sought according to the law. They didn't barter for them or seek & receive them through intimidation.

-----

This is what Mrs. Harris had instructed in her 11/13/00 letter of instruction:

election.dos.state.fl.us

With regard to the status of overseas absentee ballots, they must have
been executed as of last Tuesday. They must bear a foreign postmark
as provide in Section 101.62(7), and they must be received by the
Supervisors of Elections by midnight Friday. They are not required,
however, to be postmarked on or prior to last Tuesday.
