Jacob--All it takes is 1 of the 5 USSC justices to change his or her mind once the hearing begins and the lay of the land is full of news that the half that Dade had already counted plus those of other counties' had already swung the vote to Gore. Possibly, it may be one thing to tilt toward staying the count when you don't know the result to date, thinking Bush had a good case, and maybe quite another thing entirely if by the time you are actually hearing the case on Monday am, Gore is ahead. All it will take is 1 of the 5 to change his or her mind. Of course, it is distinctly possible that the local Fla recounting judges will refuse to devulge the partial result until after the USSC rules even if they 'know' that Gore is ahead.
