re: the half that Dade had already counted plus those of other counties' had already swung the vote to Gore:

So, the latest vote total, might put Gore ahead. At this point, the vote totals (how many have we had so far?) have zero legitimacy. Each County is deciding independantly what is a valid vote. The FSC told them to count, and told them to start counting emmediately, but didn't define what is a valid vote. Some of the counties have recounted the undervotes (but haven't recounted all the votes). Some of the counties have recounted some of the undervotes. And some counties haven't recounted anything. This saga would make a good Kafka novel (except it's too long): endless, increasing confusion, with nothing decided, nothing clear. In the end, there will be a winner and a loser, but no heroes.
