| America would never be the great nation it is if it would have been established as a socialist type nation. Instead, our forefathers were free to pursue life, liberty and happiness in their own fashion. A person could rise to whatever level their talent, ambition and efforts would take them. Communities and neighbors helped each other in times of adversity. But, until FDR the government did not interfere in the process each person established for their life as long as their efforts were legal and not doing harm to another. Starting with FDR government started growing and intruding. It has reached a very high point in intrusion now in that you pay more in taxes to support this fat bear than you pay in food, clothing and shelter combined. And, the sad thing about that money is it not used efficiently. Much, if not most, of the money is wasted or not used benefically for the good of the citizenry. We need to reverse this trend. Downsize government, back away from intrusion, have government perform the functions they should be performing. i.e. military, fire, police, etc.. and quit trying to program us to death and micromanage society through taxation, programs, push-pull, etc.. It is time for a change and a downsize of the bloated federal government. |
