Couch potato season around here ... I watched a program on TV about a Jack Russel competition. It looked like fun. These little dogs (Eddie on Frasier) are strong, and fast. They are also full of spirit and energy. They were racing them. These dogs would chase a moving bait about a hundred and fifty feet. At the end, there was a wall made of hay bales, with a small opening. Behind the wall were 'dog-catchers' inside a small (hay-bale) pen. Usually, one dog would make it through the hole (tunnel) OK, but the rest would form a bit of a dog-jam. The camera would show a spaghetti of legs and tails as all would try to squeeze through the hole. Reminded me of Sunday brunch at all-you-can-eat restaurants shortly after church gets out. After each race, the owners dipped their dogs in a tub of water to cool them off. A dogs' life. Wear a muzzle. Run like hell. Never catch the damn bait. Jam through a hole. Nose up guess where. Get snatched up by a stranger. When finally re-united with owner, get dunked in water. And I complain... Cheers, PW.
