I am saddened tonight. I am saddened because for the first time in my professional life I do not feel that the Supreme Court has acted honorably. After the decision to stop counting votes was released I had to turn off the television and my computer because my conscience was shocked by what I had just witnessed. The split down party lines, the subject matter of the case, the cessation of counting of votes, it all reeks of partisan politics. I can only hope that the Supreme Court has the wisdom to not tarnish its image by voting along party lines in this case. How anyone involved in our justice system could deny the voting rights of Americans is beyond me. Bush's lead is now at 96 votes and would be even less if the S.Ct. had not caused the counting of valid votes the stop. Know one thing, these votes will be counted. The Supreme Court cannot prevent Americans from accessing those ballots and figuring out whether Bush really won the Presidency. We will know the truth and the GOP will pay dearly for this injustice.

The votes will be counted.
