1,200 shares reminds me of a story in my family ... my legal beagle grandfather handed the management of his plantation to his brothers, moved his family from Trinidad to England, and set off on his own on an adventure at the beginning of the century. The adventure was exciting, lasted 35 years, saw the rise and demise of many, the joy and sadness of few, and the birth of a few nations. The plantation was later exchanged with my grandma (French Creole lady with half Chinese kids living in Mayfair, London - when a plantation was a plantation) by the brothers for a fancy gold watch and now, many many years later, sits atop one of the largest gas fields in the world.
1,200 shares of 9984 can be exchanged for one "wha, is this great or what" grand complication mechanical perpetual calendar watch with leap year and moon phase tracking to the year 2100, maybe even in platinum metal. 9984 may also turn out to be sitting on the largest gas field ever.
If you sell half, and buy a good watch, keep the other half, then, even if 9984 is on top of a gas field, the 600 shares would still represent a fortune.
I have my 300 shares still, though not registered on my MS Money program. I had pre-split 2,000 shares plus warrants at the most exposed stage. Yup, you can imagine my euphoria and, in the words of Unreal Tournament, "God Like" status at around last year at this time. I then progressed to the higher ranking of "Unreal" a few weeks later. Thinking back, it was an adventure, fun, though not quite lasting 35 years.
Son delivered and I failed to take all. My fault but not much regret yet, and hopefully never any regret. We all gambled at the time.
