Anyone know who made the motherboard inside the Compaq or HP made to order Thunderbird PC's? Are they over-clockable?

I thought that 1 GHz Thunderbird requires 300W power supply. I read that the Compaq boxes are much less than that.

Also, both Compaq and HP only offer ATA66 7200 RMP hard drives. Compaq has an optional ATA100 controller card. I guess this means the MB does not support ATA100. I called and ask the salesperson and she said it helps the 7200 RPM drive runs faster. She does not know if it helps the ATA66 drives. I think the card is good only if I add an ATA100 drive. In other word, it is a waste. Am I correct?
