Well, I did my part for the PDA market. Bought a Palm IIIc for a Christmas present. Why not a Handspring or a PocketPC? Well...

The person I bought it for is kind of gadgety and probably would have liked being seen taking pictures with his PDA or listening to music so I strongly considered the alternatives. However, for me it came down to two things: Price and function. The PocketPc models that appear to have the best chance to perform the expanded functions well were simply too expensive. As far as function goes the higher end Handspring likely would have a fine job but my wife has a Palm Vx and it is flawless. The Palm IIIc is virtually identical save for the color screen.

Of course my shopping criteria probably is not the same as the mass market so I am curious to see if he returns it for a PocketPC or something. My own little market research study. <g>

Best of luck to all,
Terrapin
