That is the law now. Apparently you wish to return to the days in decades past in the south when voters were required to pass 'literacy' tests.

No voter has to live up to any other voter's standards if not excluded by law to vote. I understand that the GOP is constantly trying to suppress turnout, either overtly or covertly (if you want I will cite the numerous examples of the last 10 or so years). But your opinions about the fitness of certain voters is absolutely irrelevant to their right to vote.

As for the immigrants, that is irrelevant to the hundreds of millions of citizens who are so by the dint of the fact that they were born in the USA.

Every citizen has the right to vote until it is taken away for some reason according to law, I am sorry you find that fact upsetting.
