frank, i hope you don't mind if i submit this method of yours to microsoft as a possible workaround for some of their more annoying problems? i'm certain that nearly everyone of us has tried it, and most more than once! "Maybe it's frozen. 30 seconds go by, then I zoom the cursor around the screen for a while. Sometimes that helps, I think" :) mark
