"Laws are made for men of ordinary understanding and should, therefore, be construed by the ordinary rules of common sense. Their meaning is not to be sought for in metaphysical subtleties which may make anything mean everything or nothing at pleasure." --Thomas Jefferson to William Johnson, 1823.

I agree with you. Isn't it disturbing that few people take the time to study the foundation on which the election process is based? They rag on and on using emotion, but know little if anything about the process or the laws. It's sad really, because it tends to degrade the debate and many leave here without improving their understanding or learning anything new.

I will say there are some on this thread that know more than the politicians do in regard to the constitution and the basics of the government.
