Very intelligent post! I especially like the "you people" reference. FMOE, who are you referring to? Everyone who didn't vote for Bush? Gee, that's more than half the country.
I think that a lot of people who are on this thread don't understand or can't comprehend why anyone wouldn't vote for Bush rather than Gore.
Yet, its actually very simple and it doesn't have very much to do with either Bush or Gore. Bush actually seems like a decent guy, very much a lightweight, but, not a bad person. Gore is certainly not a very likable character... So, how come so many people voted against Bush?
Well, truth is its because of the kind of people who support him, bigoted, paranoid, simplistic morons. Not that everyone who supports Bush is necessarily that way, but, everyone who is a paranoid bigoted moron does seem to support Bush.
On a thread like this its pretty easy to identify those folks. In the real world, they get dressed up in suits and have spin managers so its a little more difficult to spot them. But, as anyone who has watched the Tom DeLay's of the world knows, their stripes eventually show through the makeup...
