We were discussing the claim that the Gore offer of a statewide hand recount was an empty offer, because the deadline for requesting recounts had passed. I was just pointing out that the fact that the Florida Supreme Court actually ordered a statewide hand recount yesterday proves that it wasn't really impossible. People only thought it was impossible. Since the hypothetical situation would involve an agreement between the two campaigns, there would be nobody left to appeal it to the U.S. Supreme Court.
