Tekmon--I agree that they are doing their job and always said that they would have the final say in this whole thing. Where I was in error is that I thought they would not get involved until the situation was in the Congress. By staying the counts, they have telegraphed their decision. The Monday arguments will amount to nothing more than window dressing. I have accepted their decision, I disagree with it, but I won't call it a partisan decision, just their majority interpretation.

While it is pretty much a certainty that the counts will stop permanently, let me ask you one question:

If the US Supreme Court were to rule 5-4 in favor of Gore(a highly unlikely scenario), would you still think they were doing their job?
