I agree with you 100%. I have lost any respect I may have had for the supreme court justices. I did not think that the recounting could possibly be completed by December 12, so that decision seemed silly to me. But the US Supreme court decision to stop the recount before they hear the arguments related to that case seems to me to be case where they have decided the case before hearing it, to the detriment to the entire country. I would think that such a decision is not defensible and the worst legal decision made in the the entire proccess. So you are right the law means nothing it is all partisan politic- A very sad day in American History.
The sad thing about all of this is that the process has not brought anything but shame upon all the participants in this process. Hard to point out anyone who will come out of this unscathed. Eventually they will count the undervotes and it will turn out that Gore would have prevailed, and those majority supreme court justices will be ridiculed for the rest of their lives. Too Bad. I guess we can expect a lot more rioting this summer.
