I am always careful of participating in any sort of short squeeze... Those who know how to short (I have learned myself) know whats going on and have the patience to wait the longs out. Once a couple of the longs head for the exits they tend to panic and they all run...

There are organized short squeezes on NASDAQ stocks all day long... its quite a game. IWOV (which I am currently laying short on) is a volatile stock where you can find yourself up or down a matter of $10 a share in minutes. Every time I get squeezed, I just double the position and the natural forces of gravity take over and down she goes.

These things can only get shorted up near hard resistance levels ($85-91 on IWOV for example).

Stocks that have had big declines and have stayed down there or continue to go lower are poor short candidates and a short squeeze can really cause the stock to pop.
