It was an underlength shotgun. The big argument is since when does that kind of firepower show up to serve a warrant for a minor crime. Koresh also wasn't holed up but had been in town the day before, why not arrest him then?

But he lost any legitimacy he might have had when the shooting started and he did not give himself up.
