THE BIG LIE. Guys/ gals I apologize for posting political reviews here, but I woke up to a line in the morning newspaper that needs to be pointed out to folks on the Thread.
David Boies, Mssr. Gore's attorney keeps trying to present the illusion of the inevitabliity of Mssr. Gore's victory. He speculates that: "if the counting were to go forward it looks like Vice President Gore and Lieberman would win the popular vote in Florida, etc., etc."
This is the "big lie", similar for e.g., to the lie in WWI that Jews backstabbed Germany and caused Germany to lose WWI. It is corrosive, it is evil, it is an outright lie, and meant to roil the political waters in the U.S..
Terry Lewis, The Trial Judge has issued a gag order on all comments on the recount. Yet, Mssr. Boies feels free to ignore the court's orders and speaks when he feels like it, when it's convenient to his cause.
The reality of Mssr. Gore's postion is that his effort is a huge gamble- NOONE knows who would win a selected recount of the overvote, or 42,000 of the 6,000,000 votes cast or 3/4 of 1% of the total vote cast. It's a "turkey shoot".
