You might be a good politburo censor with an attitude like that. Merely because one expresses strong opinions about certain things does not mean they are closed-minded. That's an old attack and attempt to bait. Frankly, I've had more experience in academia and life with left-wing politics and economics than most people living outside of a Socialist country. It has influenced my opinions. And, while I appreciate your offer to tell me how and what to think and say -- "are you not capable of saying "interesting point of view - not mine - but good to know how someone else thinks?"" -- I respectfully decline your invitation. Of course I'm capable of saying that, and have, if that's what I think in a particular instance. By the same token, when I think somebody's ideas are off the wall, I'd likely tell them.

Just because I like abstract art and jazz music doesn't mean somebody shouldn't express their viewpoint that the former is just ink blots or paint spilled on a canvas, and the latter merely noise. I'd rather hear their true viewpoint than some smarmy, canned response.

That's one problem with political correctness, which is becoming to be realized as a threat to our democratic freedoms. It suppresses peoples' expression and forces them to disguise their real feelings, and flies in the face of free speech.
