problem with ie5.0.....

ie just started giving me problems a couple days ago. the favorites drop down menu does not respond for long periods of time (i'll click on it and nothing happens, other than the button is depressed). this is not specific to the favorites menu. the same unresponsiveness occurs with the other standard buttons. sometimes the drop down menu appears in abbreviated size, and when i click on the down arrows to display the rest of the favorites, everything hangs.

i thought the prob could be related to the fact that ie and netscape like to fight for position, so i made ie5.0 my default browser. that has not altered the above described behavior.

when the drop down menu appears and then hangs, it also effectively freezes the whole browser window.

other than that, ie5.0 just clips right along very nicely, basically outperforming netscape. but this hanging/stalling/no response stuff with the menu items is not good.

any suggestions from the ie camp?

:)
