Hi. I've used MaxPain analysis in the past and made reliable money with it. The only time I haven't made predictable money with it (as an option writer) is when a piece of wildly distorting fundamental news enters the picture prior to option expiry day. THEN I have to get creative to make back losses and turn said short equity strategies [in the case of wildly bullish news] or said long equity strategies [in the case of Korea prompted doom and gloom prognostications] into winners.

Such news could be a blockbuster product announcement, an election snafu, death of a Fed Reserve Board chairperson, etc.

Even then, when such exogenous factors hit an equity's pricing power, MaxPain Analysis still points a given direction and allows me to adjust option strike prices and thus benefit from at least the direction indicator.

Translation...
$75 doesn't stand a chance of being where it Q will close option FRIDAY, but there will be at least a PLAYABLE, CHEAP THROWAWAY $10 price depressing effort in options expiry week to go TOWARD the $75 level.

The Q option specialist has long since laid of his or her risk into another venue on this run, and will let the chips fall where they will so that they can "pay out" but still be delta neutral hedged, thus surviving to play another day as the taker of the other side of the sheeple's option bets.

These are my observations and personal experience.
